The following link is a Doritos commercial that aired for the 2011 Super Bowl. The commercial begins with a man shutting a glass door with a bag of Doritos in his hand telling his girlfriend to check out something he is about to do. He proceeds to grab a chip out of the bag and entice a pug dog that is outside to come running full steam towards the closed glass door. Music in the backround is something of a fast paced opera as the dog closes in on the door in slow motion. The girlfriend tells the man to not hurt her dog. The dog reaches the door and the shot shifts from slow motion to full speed as the little pug busts down the door on top of the man, Doritos logo flashes up after. The final shot is the dog chowing down on Doritos as the man is pleading for it not to eat his Doritos from underneath the glass door.

-What is the purpose the producers are portraying when they show the whole door being knocked down?
-Do you think the man being crushed by a dog represents men not having power?
-Do you think the woman is trying to act overpowering towards the man in the commercial?

-What effect if any does the slow motion shots of the dog and the music have on the overall commercial?

The commercial starts with a man at a fancy restaurant and a plate with barely any food is placed in front of him. The man gets up and starts talking in song about how he is the man and wants manly food. As he walks down the street, numerous men join him in song as they all hold a hamburger from Burger King in their hands.

Group 2 Post - Dorito's

In a 2011 Super Bowl commercial, Dorito’s created an advertisement in which three men were sitting on their couch doing nothing one night when one of them decided to open a bag of Dorito’s.  When the bag of Dorito’s is opened, one guy eats one chip and a very attractive girl appears out of thin air next to him on the couch.  The other guy follows the first’s decision and eats a chip, once again, an attractive girl appears out of thin air.  The final man, who was solving a Rubik’s Cube and was the least attractive of the three, takes the bag and pours the entire bag of Dorito’s in his mouth.  A multitude of attractive women once again appear out of nowhere and are fawning over him.  By the end of the commercial the entire bag is poured out and there are numerous girls, all attractive surrounding the three guys and filling the entire room.
